HISTORY OF TRAVIS ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS

1998 – Academy begins with a small private violin studio under the umbrella of Travis Avenue Baptist Church

Spring 1999 – Travis Academy of Fine Arts (TAFA), becomes the official name of the Academy.

Fall 1999 – Inaugural enrollment begins approximately 100 students with classes and private instruction combined.

2003 – TAFA surpasses 300 students enrolled in 40 classes plus private instruction

2006 – TAFA offers a graduation ceremony for students with 12 students participating

2009 – TAFA surpasses 600 students enrolled in 70 classes plus private instruction

2012 – TAFA graduation has 53 students participating

June 2012 – TAFA Incorporates and becomes independent entity

September 2013 – TAFA receives donation of 85,000 sq. ft facility from Riverside Baptist Church

February 12, 2014 – TAFA Receives 501c3 status retroactive to June 2012

Spring 2015 – TAFA surpasses 950 students enrolled in 118 classes plus private instruction
