School of Worship

CLASSES AT A GLANCE

The TAFA School of Worship has a unique worship and Biblical discipleship training program like no other school, designed to equip
students for worship ministry and leadership. We offer 3 levels of worship bands, live-mix tech training, worship leadership and
songwriting. Each worship band can accommodate a drummer, 1 bass player, 1 piano player, 1 keyboards/ synth player, 2 acoustic
guitar players, 2 electric guitars (lead and rhythm) and up to 6 vocalists.

Worship Band I

Worship Band classes will allow students to utilize their talents on their respective instruments in a collaborative way that brings glory to God. Students will be encouraged to study the Bible together and meet occasionally in small groups for discussion of the Bible reading and prayer. They will lead worship with contemporary worship songs and traditional hymn arrangements. Admission by audition.

Worship Band II

The Advanced Praise and Worship Band will allow students to utilize their talents on their respective instruments in an organized and collaborative way that brings glory to God. If a student is a multi-instrumentalist, they may have the opportunity to play several instruments in the band. This class will focus on student training in the processes of leading a team. Students will be accountable to study the Bible and maintain regular quiet times as they develop into worship leaders. Admission by audition/Letter of Recommendation.

Digital Tech

Technicians are an integral part of the worship ministry. This class will prepare teens to serve the local church in the technical arts of sound, lights, computer lyrics, and camera work. Students will study different types of common audio cables and sound boards, and basic lighting instruments for theatrical and church services and productions. The industry standard computer lyrics program, ProPresenter, will be overviewed and techniques discussed for worship leading from that position. The end of the year will include camera basics for DSLR videography and GoPro documentation of live events, with video editing in Final Cut Pro software, and music mixing in Pro Tools software.
